Challenge

A2 Design took over the project when it was in a deteriorated state. In 2014, the previous development team had initiated the project using Laravel 4, which quickly became outdated and posed difficulties in maintaining the project due to its resource-intensive nature. The MadPaws team identified several key challenges, including the use of outdated technology (Laravel 4), slow responsiveness from the original development team regarding change requests, and poor website performance characterized by slow page loading speed and search functionality.

Solution

A2 Design put forth extensive efforts to achieve optimal efficiency. As a remote web development provider for numerous companies and startups, we frequently engage in voice/video meetings with our partners. However, due to the geographical dispersion of our clients, in-person meetings are infrequent. This is not uncommon, given that our clients are located in various parts of the world. Nevertheless, the MadPaws project stood out as an exception to this trend.

Results

The A2 Design Team successfully accomplished the following objectives during their work on the project: Technology stack upgrade: Implemented the Ionic Framework for mobile app development, a highly regarded choice for cross-platform applications. Enabled the product owner to efficiently manage different aspects of the app, such as sending notifications to users, accessing system reports, and generating promo codes. Improved site performance to accommodate the growing number of registered users and bookings through the marketplace. Timely delivery of technical solutions to support new partnerships formed by MadPaws. Additionally, the project achieved impressive milestones, including: Over 300,000 registered pets. Over 20,000 active pet sitters.
