Challenge

Glowfy, a B2B IoT solutions provider renowned for its high-quality hardware, faced a critical gap in its offerings due to the absence of comprehensive software infrastructure. Despite delivering robust IoT devices to enterprise clients, the company lacked tools for remote monitoring, over-the-air firmware updates, real-time diagnostics, and seamless integration across diverse device fleets. This software void severely constrained device utilization rates, as end-users struggled with limited visibility into performance metrics, usage patterns, and potential issues. Maintenance processes remained reactive and labor-intensive, often requiring on-site interventions that increased operational costs and downtime for clients. In a rapidly evolving IoT market where competitors offered end-to-end solutions with intuitive dashboards and proactive management, Glowfy risked declining customer satisfaction and retention. Enterprise clients demanded secure, scalable platforms capable of handling thousands of connected devices while ensuring data privacy, real-time synchronization, and compatibility with existing systems. Without these capabilities, Glowfy's hardware advantages were underutilized, hindering revenue growth and market positioning in an industry increasingly defined by integrated software-hardware ecosystems.

Solution

In a focused one-year engagement, we developed and delivered a complete software suite tailored to Glowfy's B2B IoT ecosystem, bridging the gap between their hardware excellence and enterprise-grade management needs. For end-customers, we built a React Native mobile application that provides intuitive on-the-go control, real-time monitoring of device status, usage analytics, and direct interaction with IoT hardware features. The internal web application, developed with Angular, empowers Glowfy's team with advanced tools for fleet-wide firmware updates, device onboarding, diagnostic troubleshooting, integration management, and performance oversight through customizable dashboards. The backend leverages Node.js for efficient, event-driven processing, supported by a hybrid database architecture combining MongoDB for flexible telemetry storage and PostgreSQL for structured data. Real-time communication is enabled via IoT protocols including MQTT and WebSocket, ensuring secure, low-latency data flow between devices and the platform. Hosted on AWS and Azure for redundancy and auto-scaling, the solution incorporates robust security measures, API gateways, and seamless hardware integrations to deliver a cohesive, future-proof system.

Results

The deployed software suite transformed Glowfy's B2B offerings, significantly enhancing both customer and internal operational outcomes. Enterprise clients now enjoy intuitive mobile access via the React Native app, leading to markedly higher device adoption rates, more frequent utilization, and improved satisfaction through empowered self-service monitoring and control. Internally, the Angular web application has streamlined Glowfy's processes, enabling proactive firmware updates and diagnostics that substantially reduce device downtime and support tickets. Faster integration of new hardware variants has accelerated time-to-market for innovative solutions. Overall operational efficiency has improved through centralized fleet management, real-time insights, and automated workflows, lowering maintenance costs and enhancing service reliability. These advancements have strengthened Glowfy's competitive positioning in the IoT market, fostering deeper client relationships, increased retention, and new business opportunities by presenting a truly integrated hardware-software proposition that meets modern enterprise demands.
