Challenge
Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) NJ is a leading organization dedicated to advancing the clinical skills and knowledge of resident doctors and to assist them in adjusting to the U.S. medical system through training, mentorship and support. Faced with increasing demands for up-to-date clinical knowledge, compliance with accreditation standards, and efficient management of training records, APPNA needed an integrated system that would merge human resource management (HRMS) with a modern e-learning platform. The goal was to create a unified portal that delivers engaging, personalized training content while streamlining administrative processes and tracking professional development of resident doctors and interns. The project aimed to:
-Integrate HRMS and e-learning platform to consolidate resident profiles, training records, certifications, and performance data into a single portal.
-Deliver interactive, multimedia-rich training content that offers personalized learning paths and adaptive assessments tailored to the needs of doctors.
-Reduce manual tasks by automating course enrollment, attendance tracking, certification issuance, and compliance reporting.
-Maintain robust audit trails and reporting mechanisms to support accreditation and regulatory requirements while ensuring high-quality training.
-Leverage analytics to monitor training effectiveness, identify learning gaps, and continuously refine the curriculum based on performance data.

Solution
Our team stepped in with a comprehensive technical foundation leveraging AWS cloud-based microservices architecture orchestrated by Kubernetes, API-driven integrations, real-time messaging, and strict security practices. The system was designed to focus on efficiently managing donations, donor relationships, streamlining donation process, automation of volunteers coordination, and to support meal distribution.
1. Architectural Overview
Cloud-Native Microservices: The solution is built using a microservices architecture deployed on AWS to ensure scalability, flexibility, and resilience. Each core functionality including HRMS, e-learning content delivery, AI-driven personalization, and analytics is implemented as an independent service.
API-Driven Integration: RESTful APIs enable seamless, real-time data exchange between HRMS, e-learning services, and AI components. The API Gateway centralizes communication ensuring security, throttling, and consistent response formatting.
Event-Driven Processing: Leveraged AWS EventBridge and AWS Lambda to enable asynchronous, event-driven processing on event trigger updates in the HRMS, e-learning platform and analytics modules.
2. Core Modules
HRMS Integration
Administrative Workflow Automation
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Doctor Profile Management:
Content Management and Delivery
Adaptive Learning
Real-time Progress Tracking
Automated Messaging
Personalized AI Recommendation Engine
Predictive Forecast Analysis
