Challenge

Our task was to extract and transmit magnetometer sensor information from a mobile app to an iFrame ghost detector application at regular intervals. The mobile app would take readings from the magnetometer at set intervals and then transmit this data to the iFrame application. The iFrame application would then use this data to detect ghosts.

Solution

To register the ghost detection we converted sensor data to total magnitude using a unique mathematical formula and validated it against natural magnetic fields. We converted the sensor data to total magnitude using a mathematical formula. We then checked this against known natural magnetic fields. This allowed us to be sure that the readings we were getting were not just from natural sources.

Results

Working alongside Burger King, we have created a Halloween-themed Ghostbusters game for their existing burger king app. The app uses magnetic mobile phone sensors to detect magnetic fields nearby and rewards users with coupons when catching a "ghost" -Native Magnetic Sensors for Mobile Devices -Prismic CMS Integration for Market and Language Management -Coupon Rewarding Integrations for Specific Markets (mParticle, Deeplink, Post Message, etc.)
