FHENY is a luxury fashion retailer based in Ottawa with a physical storefront offering curated collections from multiple international designers. The core challenge was translating a refined, premium in-store experience into a digital environment without compromising the brand's elevated identity.
Building for luxury requires restraint — not adding features, but getting the details right. The team needed to design an experience that felt intentional and considered while managing a technically complex, multi-brand catalog behind the scenes. Key challenges included creating a luxury aesthetic without relying on heavy visuals or pre-built theme shortcuts; organizing a large designer-led catalog spanning 5,000+ SKUs in a way that felt curated rather than crowded; cleaning and standardizing raw product data sourced from multiple fashion houses; introducing advanced search and filtering functionality without compromising page performance or visual elegance; and designing a scalable architecture that could accommodate new designers and product lines over time without requiring a rebuild.
