Orso Activewear is a Canada-based DTC activewear brand built around inclusivity and sustainability. As a new-to-market brand, the challenge wasn't just building a store — it was building a Shopify store capable of standing out in a saturated activewear category while communicating genuinely held values around sustainability and size inclusivity.
Key challenges included differentiating the brand in a highly competitive activewear market where many brands communicate similar values; presenting sustainability and inclusivity authentically without being preachy or performative; balancing lifestyle-led branding with clear, intuitive ecommerce navigation; customizing a premium Shopify theme without sacrificing load speed; supporting multi-currency purchasing (CAD and USD) from launch; and building a scalable foundation that could support growth without over-engineering too early in the brand's lifecycle.

Rather than overbuilding, the team customized a premium Shopify theme — making structural adjustments only where they improved clarity, product presentation, and performance. A clean, product-forward experience was designed and supported by lifestyle imagery that communicates the brand's values without overshadowing products.
Pages were structured to guide users naturally from discovery to purchase. AI-powered search and filters were implemented to improve product navigation. AI-supported marketing tools were configured for smarter email segmentation to support post-launch retention and engagement. Multi-currency support for CAD and USD was built in from the start. A student discount feature was also integrated. Page speed and load performance were treated as core requirements throughout the build.
