Challenge

Roxxy Beauty is a Canada-based online beauty retailer that built its initial audience on Instagram before establishing a dedicated ecommerce presence. The brand needed to migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify and simultaneously redesign the store for a mobile-first audience that had been accustomed to the immediacy of Instagram shopping.

Key challenges included translating a social-first brand identity into a structured, owned ecommerce channel without losing the visual energy and brand connection built on Instagram; designing primarily for mobile users who expect fast load times and immediate browsing clarity; keeping the storefront lightweight and performance-optimized; creating a clear purchase flow that does not overwhelm first-time buyers; and completing a clean WooCommerce-to-Shopify migration with complete data transfer and no operational downtime.

Solution

The build was approached with restraint and clarity. WooCommerce data — products, customers, and order history — was migrated cleanly to Shopify with full data integrity maintained throughout. A mobile-first storefront was designed to align with the social browsing behavior of Roxxy Beauty's existing audience: visual-forward, fast to load, and easy to navigate from a small screen.

Navigation and collections were kept simple and intuitive. Page speed and load times were heavily optimized to reduce mobile abandonment. A checkout flow was configured to minimize friction for first-time visitors. SEO foundations were implemented from the start to support organic discoverability post-migration. The overall Shopify foundation was built to be simple to manage and easy to scale as the brand grows.

Results

Following the WooCommerce to Shopify migration and redesign, Roxxy Beauty achieved a 57% growth in DTC sales volume — a direct result of moving to a faster, more conversion-optimized platform that better matches how the brand's audience shops. The store feels clean, fast, and on-brand. It supports the transition from Instagram-led selling to a fully owned ecommerce channel while maintaining the look and feel the audience already trusts. The mobile-first DTC store is now Roxxy Beauty's primary sales channel — simple today, structured for scale tomorrow.
