Challenge

Our client — a Swedish company that provides ticketing and payment systems for public transport and parking in the Nordic countries — was seeking a technological partner to upgrade an earlier version of the portable ticketing device for conductors to a newer Android Famoco model and incorporate several integrations with third-party products.

Solution

1) Developed an xBKU mobile ticketing app and helped integrate the solution into the transport system infrastructure. 2) Delivered user-friendly and ergonomic hardware — portable ticketing device for conductors, that adheres to Swedish Work Environment Authority requirements. 3) Provided flexible xBKU application architecture so that the solution could be easily adopted by other transport operators with little-to-no customization.

Results

We have helped SL meet all the governmental requirements and pioneer a new connected ticketing device, offering a top-notch experience to passengers and conductors. The updated solution of xBKU has been introduced also for Waxholms Ångfartygs AB (WÅAB) – a shipping company responsible for seaborne public transport in Stockholm archipelago and harbor.
