Challenge

In equity capital markets, verifying documents is a highly regulated and extremely detailed process. Legal teams must review materials such as prospectuses, circulars, offer documents, and marketing content to confirm that every statement is supported by accurate and up-to-date evidence.

Traditionally, this work is performed manually by junior lawyers and paralegals under the supervision of senior professionals. The process is slow, repetitive, and requires reviewing documents that can exceed 200 pages while maintaining full accuracy. Even small updates in the main document can require multiple updates across verification notes, increasing the complexity of the process.

Additionally, legal teams must frequently coordinate with clients and advisors to gather supporting information, which further slows down the workflow and makes collaboration challenging. Estimating the time required for verification is difficult, especially in large transactions, often leading to delays or financial write-offs.

Verifi aimed to transform this process by introducing an AI-powered solution that would accelerate verification, improve collaboration between stakeholders, and maintain the highest standards of legal integrity and accuracy.

Solution

Future Processing partnered with Verifi to design and build a scalable AI-driven platform supporting the verification of complex legal documents. The project began with discovery workshops to better understand the client’s workflow and identify the most important product features.

Within three months, the team delivered a working Proof of Concept that demonstrated how machine learning could support legal professionals in annotating and verifying documents. The prototype helped present the value of the solution to both internal stakeholders and investors.

Following the successful PoC phase, the teams continued the collaboration to develop a full enterprise-ready platform. The solution was built iteratively, starting with a strong AI foundation and gradually expanding with enterprise features, scalability, and compliance capabilities.

The platform includes several key capabilities designed to streamline the verification process. These include automatic identification of statements requiring verification, semantic search for supporting evidence, version control for document updates, and collaboration tools that allow legal teams and clients to work together within a secure environment.

Results

The delivered platform significantly improves the efficiency of legal verification processes used in equity capital markets. By combining machine learning with advanced search capabilities, the system supports legal teams throughout the end-to-end verification workflow.

The solution helps lawyers quickly identify statements that require validation and locate supporting evidence based on the meaning and context of the content rather than simple keyword searches. This reduces manual effort while improving accuracy and consistency across documents.

The system also maintains a human-in-the-loop approach, ensuring that legal professionals retain full control over final decisions. Users can review, modify, or reject AI suggestions while maintaining complete oversight of the verification process.

As a result, the platform enables law firms to reduce the time required to complete verification tasks by up to 75%, delivering significant productivity gains and improving collaboration across legal teams, clients, and advisors.
