Challenge

The client needed to tackle goods counterfeiting in their industry with modern technology. So the InData Labs team was challenged to develop a solution to recognize and verify marks applied on top of QR codes.

Solution

We suggested some possible approaches to solve the problem and test the results. We employed a convolutional neural network (CNN) to train the model to recognize and verify patterns.

Results

Our team developed an Android app for QR code recognition. Using the app, the user takes a pic of a QR code, the model recognizes it. All the results get checked against the database, and the app sends the verification or a counterfeit alert.
