Challenge

A European commercial bank with a nationwide network of service centers needed iOS and Android apps that would deliver genuine mobility, high-quality customer-oriented service, and strong security, together with custom back-end development to support them. The bank wanted more than a basic mobile banking client; it aimed to combine full-cycle banking operations with modern conveniences and standout capabilities that would differentiate it in a crowded market. Given the sensitivity of financial data, security had to be uncompromising while remaining hassle-free for everyday users. The bank chose to partner with a team that understood the banking industry deeply and had extensive iOS and Android development experience to deliver the project end to end.

Solution

With only a project manager on the bank's side, the team handled the full cycle of mobile banking app development, from requirements analysis through design and prototyping to implementation, testing, and market release. The apps let users perform a wide range of operations including balance checks, credit and deposit management, transfers and online payments with scheduled and automatic options, mobile top-ups, and currency rates, and pushed device capabilities with GPS navigation to the nearest service point, push notifications, and SMS-banking integration when the connection fails. For security, the team implemented a two-step identification system from a leading authentication provider based on a PIN linked to the app at activation, so the app stays secure even if the PIN is known to a third party while remaining hassle-free with no per-session codes. A minimalist design delivered crisp colors, intuitive navigation, and configurable dashboards, with feedback forms for security alerts, call-back requests, and service-point ratings. A signature augmented-reality feature guides users to the nearest ATM, self-service terminal, or banking center using a live camera view augmented with a radar, a compass indicator, an arrow, and remaining distance. It was built with the Android SDK and Android Studio, Objective-C and Xcode, and a Java Spring back end.

Results

The app was successfully delivered and published on the App Store and Google Play. By helping customers become more flexible, save time, and gain greater control over their finances, it earned widespread recognition and multiple mobile banking awards. The team continues to deliver updates and fixes based on feedback from users and test groups, and the bank plans further unique features and a tablet version in continued cooperation. The engagement produced not just a functional banking client but an award-winning, security-first product with a distinctive AR navigation experience that set the bank apart and deepened its relationship with its customers.
