
An Insurance App with 3D Auto Models to Transform Claim Submission
Challenge
A US software company focused on solutions for car insurers and carmakers wanted to reinvent how drivers file car damage claims. Its customers and partners include leading US insurers and world-renowned auto brands, so the bar for quality and usability was high. The company needed a solution that would guide an insurer's customers through describing vehicle damage using standardized forms combined with interactive 3D car models, turning a confusing, error-prone process into something clear and intuitive on a mobile device. To build it, the company sought a professional web development vendor with a proven record in custom insurance software and the specialized skills to combine standardized claim workflows with realistic 3D visualization.

Solution
The delivered solution is a web application designed to fit mobile screens, with a location-based interface language that can switch automatically. Each screen represents a step in filing a claim: the customer enters contact details, uploads photos with vehicle information, and then selects damaged parts on an interactive 3D car model — an original sedan created by a 3D graphics expert. Choosing a part such as a tire, windshield, hood, or bumper brings up a short list describing the kind and extent of the damage, for example gauged or flat for a tire, cracked or broken for glass, or scratches and dents with size variants for surfaces, and the user can attach a photo to each damaged part individually. When the claim is complete it uploads to the insurer's claim-processing backend and is queued for loss adjustment. Once results are ready, the user is notified by email or text and can order a payment check or pick a repair facility from a list, with distances calculated automatically and turned into a route on an in-app map. A short five-star survey at the end captures feedback. It was built with React, three.js, HTML5, CSS3, Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, and the Google Maps API.
