Web and Mobile Banking Software for a Bank with 3M+ Customers
Challenge
A renowned retail bank serving more than three million customers through a nationwide branch network had been running outdated online and mobile banking systems that offered only basic functionality and no longer matched what customers expected. Everyday tasks felt clunky, advanced money-management options were missing, and the aging platforms risked eroding customer loyalty in an increasingly competitive market. The bank decided to completely revamp these services, replacing the legacy solutions with modern online and mobile banking that would deliver a far better experience across web, iOS, and Android. It needed a partner with deep custom-banking-software expertise capable of shipping a consistent, feature-rich product to millions of users.

Solution
Drawing on long experience in custom banking software and financial-services consulting, the team analyzed the bank's needs and built an online banking solution plus native iOS and Android apps sharing an identical functional scope. Core features covered checking, savings, and credit accounts, balance and transaction history, payments, transfers, exchange rates, branch and ATM location, and bank news. Because the bank emphasized transfers, the team enabled movement of funds between a customer's own accounts, between accounts and the bank's cards, to any other domestic bank, and internationally through the local payment system. More sophisticated capabilities included transfers to friends using only a phone number with SMS claim reminders, and split payments that divide a bill among several people with currency choice, comments, photos, reminders, and status tracking, even allowing non-customers to install the app and contribute with a card from any bank. Value-added features let customers set card limits for ATM, POS, and online use, create purpose-specific virtual cards, request statements and documents online, request call-backs, and reach the bank via social networks, email, or live chat. It was built with Java and Android SDK, Swift and UIKit, and an AngularJS web front end.
