Challenge
Ya Tut Ukrainian non-profit with a network of 80+ psychologists and over 31,000 completed consultations — faced a fundamental scalability problem: the one-on-one session format simply could not reach everyone in need. Across Ukraine, people encountered long wait times for specialists, social stigma around seeking psychological help, and a lack of quality resources outside major cities.
The goal was to build a mobile application that would provide round-the-clock access to psychological self-help, lower the barrier for those hesitant to engage with traditional therapy, and give users tools to independently monitor their emotional state. At the same time, the product needed to feel warm and approachable rather than clinical — supportive by nature, not intimidating.

Solution
We designed and developed "Ya Tut," a cross-platform mobile application built with Flutter, focused on psychological self-help and ongoing emotional support. The product brings together evidence-based content, an AI-powered assistant, and clinical screening tools within a single, accessible interface.
Core features delivered:
- Self-help content library — Structured modules covering anxiety, stress, burnout, and relationships, complete with practical exercises, audio-guided relaxation, and reflective prompts saved to a personal journal.
- AI-powered assistant — A GPT-powered companion providing warm, empathetic responses with strict safety guardrails: no diagnosing, clear boundaries, and guided referrals to professionals when needed.
- Clinical screening tools — Validated PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaires with automatic scoring and personalized recommendations based on results.
- Mood tracking — Daily emotional check-ins with tagging, personal journaling, and smart reminders to support healthy habits.
- Purposeful design system — A warm, low-friction interface with soft colors and intuitive navigation, keeping every feature reachable within 2–3 taps to minimize cognitive load.
All content was developed in close collaboration with licensed psychologists and methodologists from UA Mental Help throughout every stage — from initial research through to post-launch updates.
