Nerdy Banana: Automated Custom Product Configurator for Shopify-based Apparel E‑Commerce

Background
Nerdy Banana is a UK/US–based e-commerce and digital agency managing multiple custom gift brands (e.g. socks, blankets, dolls). Their business model centers on high personalization: customers upload images, add text, and tailor products. Before working with us, they faced heavy manual work in order processing and no real-time product preview for customers.

Their manual workflow slowed production: designers had to cut out uploaded images by hand, prepare print files separately, and everything took hours. There was no live preview capability, and Shopify order integration was patchy.

- Automate post-purchase processes: generate print files, integrate with Dropbox, reduce manual intervention.
- Provide an admin panel for managing product templates and customization rules, giving control back to the Nerdy Banana team.

We aimed to:
