Challenge
BLOC-X aimed to modernize the outdated over-the-counter (OTC) commodity trading market, where deals were still executed manually via calls and spreadsheets. The client needed a secure, scalable digital platform that could support real-time trades of oil futures while complying with strict financial regulations. The challenge was to design and deliver a fast MVP to validate the business model and then evolve it into a fully functional production system capable of handling live market activity, all within tight time and compliance constraints.

Pragmatic Coders built a responsive trading platform using React.js on the frontend and a custom low-latency backend handling order-book logic, trade execution, and asynchronous messaging. The team designed a robust architecture with WebSockets for real-time updates and deployed it on AWS for scalability and security. The MVP was delivered in a few months, allowing BLOC-X to demonstrate its value to investors and partners. Later iterations added analytics, access control, and compliance tools, making the system enterprise-ready.
