Challenge
KodyPay, a UK-based FinTech startup, wanted to revolutionize the payment experience for brick-and-mortar merchants by combining digital payments, loyalty, and data analytics in one unified app. Traditional point-of-sale systems were costly, hardware-dependent, and fragmented. The challenge was to build a secure, cloud-based mobile platform that could process transactions, integrate with multiple payment providers, and remain compliant with PCI DSS and UK FCA standards. Pragmatic Coders designed and built a mobile-first payment app with a microservice-based backend and an intuitive merchant dashboard. The frontend was developed using React Native for cross-platform support, while backend services were implemented in Java and Node.js. The platform integrated multiple payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Worldpay) and provided transaction analytics and customer insights. CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and encrypted APIs ensured speed and data protection. The MVP was delivered in under six months, with further iterations expanding compliance and reporting capabilities.
