A popular engineering firm that specializes in the manufacture of industrial machinery like electric drives and controls, hydraulics, etc. approached us to develop a B2B product catalogue native mobile app for their online product delivery initiative.

Solution
It was indeed a challenge to showcase hundreds of products in the form of a catalogue as per smartphone dimensions. After sessions of brainstorming, the Scalans team came up with an idea to design the UI of the app in image-based grid block pattern, with horizontal and vertical scrolling.
This enables the user to get a quick overview of the products at one glance. On clicking a block, the user is directed to a fresh page that has a short synopsis and a demo video about the product, along with its technical details and price – all displayed in icon format.

Results
The client reported a 45% jump in sales after the introduction of the mobile app. They could handle the huge order volumes in a better way through the app. As the app is fully customizable, the client could easily update product prices and instock/outstock status, create new categories, etc. – a far cry from printed catalogues.
