Challenge

A world-leading engineering company that designs and installs crane-rail systems in 20+ countries was still relying on paper check-lists, email threads and siloed Excel sheets. Customers had no real-time view of project milestones, while on-site inspectors filled out PDFs on rugged laptops and re-typed data later, doubling effort and delaying maintenance decisions. The board approved an ambitious digital-transformation roadmap but needed an external partner that could:
• deliver a secure customer portal with project-tracking and document management;
• build an offline-first mobile inspection app for Android / iOS;
• migrate workflows to Microsoft Azure with CI/CD—in under a year and without disrupting live contracts worth millions

Solution

Sigli embedded a four-person core squad (PM, Tech Lead, full-stack dev, mobile dev) and scaled ad-hoc with QA & DevOps.
1. Discovery & architecture design. We mapped every stakeholder touchpoint, modelled future integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and identified quick wins to replace paper flows.
2. Cloud backbone. Provisioned Azure subscriptions via Terraform, set up Identity, Blob Storage and Azure SQL, then wired an Azure DevOps pipeline with automated tests and blue-green deployments.
3. Web portal. Using .NET 6, React and TypeScript we delivered modules for Gantt-style scheduling, version-controlled file sharing, multilingual notifications and role-based access.
4. Mobile inspection app. A single React Native code-base (Android + iOS) synced photos, GPS and checklist data to an ASP.NET Core REST API—even in low-connectivity ports and foundries.
5. Hardening & knowledge transfer. We ran penetration scans, authored run-books and paired with client engineers so they could own the stack post-launch

Results

Portal live with 156 active users from 69 client companies; supports real-time project status and document versioning.
Mobile inspection app rolled out company-wide, praised by field teams for offline mode and one-tap PDF report generation.
Transparency & traceability up: unified data flow cut email back-and-forth by an estimated 40 % and halved report-preparation time.
Foundation for future tech: Azure IaC and CI/CD pipelines mean new micro-services spin up in minutes, accelerating the wider digital-transformation roadmap. Together, these wins position the client as a digitally mature leader in heavy-load engineering infrastructure
