There were six different Football Club applications with the exact same functionalities but different code repositories. Every time there is a change in the application, the change had to be done 6 times in both iOS and in Android version.
There were six different Football Club applications with the exact same functionalities but different code repositories. Every time there is a change in the application, the change had to be done 6 times in both iOS and in Android version.
Solution
We re-architected the application into a single code repository for both iOS and Android, with multiple build targets. In the new architecture, once the change is made and tested, 6 different application builds can be produced from the same Git Repository by simply changing the build target.

Results
Release time from 5 days per app per release to 15-30 mins per app (saving 30 man-days every release).
The customer used to have 30-40 releases a year. Reduced time to market significantly and the new interface attracted better ratings and numbers of users.
As a result, apps gained several thousand users and all 6 apps were in the top 200 of Germany's App Store
