Challenge

In February 2023, Naren Bansal, the founder of a rising IoT startup, approached us with an innovative concept for a water management solution. Their idea centered on an affordable, real-time water monitoring device aimed at ensuring safe drinking water and reducing waste.

To turn this concept into a functional, market-ready product, they sought a dependable technology partner. With our extensive experience in IoT development, agile methodologies, and user-focused design, we were the ideal choice to bring their vision to reality.

Solution

We partnered with WaterTDS to transform their concept into a market-ready product, developing an MVP and a comprehensive ecosystem that includes:

  • TDS Bot: IoT device measuring water quality, volume, and temperature, with predictive maintenance via machine learning.
  • Data Infrastructure: AWS IoT Core for real-time data processing and BackOffice systems for analytics, notifications, and business logic.
  • Mobile Applications:
    • End-User App: Provides real-time water quality data, usage insights, and alerts for households and businesses.
    • Service Engineer App: Facilitates system maintenance, including diagnostics, service requests, and issue resolution.
  • Web Applications: BackOffice systems with CRM capabilities for distributors, service teams, and contractors, enabling device management and user support.
  • Corporate Website: Features equipment sales, service management, real-time stats, and payment capabilities.

Results

By June 2024, WaterTDS was ready for the production phase, which involved larger-scale testing with commercial clients. Our team focused on ensuring the product could scale effectively and manage multiple devices. Also, we integrated additional modules, such as maintenance requests and cartridge replacement.

At this stage, WaterTDS caught the attention of major brands, including Google Campus in São Paulo, which became an early large-scale deployment. Furthermore, partnerships were forged with brands like Liquos, Starbucks, and McDonald’s, highlighting the growing global demand for the product.
