Challenge
AutoSill set an ambitious goal: become the largest automotive marketplace in Ukraine and serve both private sellers and professional dealers with a single, intuitive platform. The challenge spanned three dimensions. Product & UX: make listing a car as simple as sending a message, while giving buyers powerful yet friendly search by make/model, price, mileage, body type, fuel, transmission, region, and more plus tools to compare, save, and receive alerts. Trust & Safety: deter fraud at scale with smart moderation, duplicate detection, and transparent listing rules; protect users’ data; and provide safe communication channels without exposing personal contacts. Performance & Operations: handle traffic spikes, photo-heavy pages, and large inventories without slowing down; provide dealers with bulk import/export and stock management; support tiered paid plans (highlighting, bump-ups, featured) with fast checkout; and maintain strong SEO and mobile performance for a market where a majority of users browse on smartphones. The platform also needed Ukraine-first localization, resilient hosting, and a roadmap that would support continuous growth without rewrites.

Solution
We built a large-scale online board tailored for vehicles optimized from the first click to the closing call. The buyer experience includes advanced faceted search with instant filters, map/region browsing, structured car cards (VIN, trim, options), price history indicators, comparisons, and saved searches with email/push alerts. Listing a car is a guided wizard with real-time validation, automatic photo optimization/watermarking, and smart hints that improve ad quality. Dealers get bulk tools (CSV/XML feeds, API), inventory dashboards, and analytics for lead tracking. To keep users safe, we implemented a moderation queue, phone/duplicate detection, basic VIN sanity checks, blacklists, and masked chat/call flows with reporting. Under the hood, the stack combines a robust backend with search indexing for speed, caching/CDN for heavy media, and an event-driven pipeline for notifications. The UI is mobile-first (PWA features such as add-to-home and offline basics), accessible, and SEO-ready (clean URLs, structured data, sitemaps). Payments support listing plans, promotions, and receipts; the admin panel unifies content, moderation, billing, and support so the marketplace can operate efficiently and scale new categories or promo formats.
