Challenge
The client’s vision was Betcoin - a real-time platform where users place outcome bets on the short-term movement of cryptocurrency pairs. Unlike a classic sportsbook, pricing and UX had to reflect the volatility and micro-timing of crypto markets. The key challenges were:
Real-time accuracy - streaming quotes from multiple exchanges, reconciling spreads, and protecting users from stale prices;
Fair and explainable odds - a transparent payout model tied to market data, with clear pre-trade information;
Latency and resilience - the interface had to feel instant under load spikes during market moves, with graceful handling of gaps and outages; wallet & payments - supporting crypto deposits/withdrawals and on-site balance management with auditability; risk & limits - exposure caps, velocity limits, and configurable guardrails; polish & clarity - an interface that communicates complex states (live, locking, settled, refunded) with zero ambiguity. The project was built from scratch, so we also needed a design system, component library, and product language that could scale to new markets, pairs, and bet types without redesigns.

Solution
We delivered Betcoin end-to-end - product, UX/UI, and frontend/backend. We built a pricing and settlement engine that aggregates quotes from multiple exchanges, normalizes them, and locks a reference price at bet confirmation; settlement is deterministic based on the locked window close. For UX/UI, we crafted a high-contrast, latency-aware interface: live tickers, pair switcher, bet tiles with ETA and returns, “locking” micro-states, and unobtrusive toasts for fills and settlements. The design system covers typography, spacing, shadow elevation, color semantics (informational/warning/critical), and motion guidelines, ensuring pixel-perfect consistency. Technically, the stack supports websocket streaming, optimistic UI updates with server reconciliation, idempotent order endpoints, and ledgered balances for deposits, withdrawals, and settlements. Risk controls include exposure limits by pair and user tier, velocity checks, session device verification, and an audit trail. The admin console enables pair configuration, payout tables, maintenance windows, and content. The result is a top-notch, detail-driven product where every shadow, font size, and color token is intentional and tied to usability.

The crypto wallet flow - deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers - works seamlessly with the ledger, improving transparency for both users and operations.
