Challenge

Jindou Lee was building a property-management product out of Australia and needed a senior Rails engineer to ship the V1 alongside him. The PropTech vertical demands real workflows for inspections, work orders, and resident communication - the kind of product where backend correctness compounds into real operational savings for the rental businesses using it. The founder needed a remote engineer who could ship the foundation, not just write tickets.

Solution

Working remotely from Ukraine, our founder Volodymyr Petlovy authored the initial version of HappyCo for Jindou - Ruby on Rails from scratch, the same founder-engineer cooperation pattern that became VeViDi's template. Jindou ran the business and product side from Australia, Volodymyr ran the code from Ukraine. The V1 was the foundation Jindou would later raise around: when he won a US grant and relocated to the US to scale the company, he hired a local team to take the platform forward. Clean handoff from V1 to scale-out.

Results

HappyCo is today a substantial PropTech company serving rental-property managers and operators, with 1.5M+ units under management and 100M+ inspections. The platform trajectory - built from founder Jindou Lee's Australian start, scaled through a US grant and US relocation, and grown into a real PropTech presence - is the canonical illustration of the practice that became VeViDi: a senior remote engineer ships the V1 with a founder, the founder takes it to scale. In Jindou's words on the public testimonial on vevidi.com: "I have worked with Volodymyr years ago and had great results, I hope to be able to find a way to work together again soon."
