Challenge

Jason Bergenske was running his family moving business and needed software built for the way movers actually work - jobs scheduled in trucks, crews dispatched, customers texted, paperwork captured at the curb. Off-the-shelf tools did not fit, so Jason set out to build the operating system for the business himself with a senior Rails developer who could ship the V1 alongside him. The early product had to be usable in a real moving company on day one, built for movers first and generalized into a SaaS later.

Solution

Working remotely from Ukraine, our founder Volodymyr Petlovy co-built the initial version of MoveitPro with Jason - Ruby on Rails from scratch, framed around the workflows Jason actually saw on real moving jobs. Founder-engineer cooperation: Jason ran the business and the customer discovery, Volodymyr wrote the code. When the product had proved itself enough that Jason wanted to convert it into a multi-tenant SaaS, he switched to a local US team to scale. The handoff was clean, the Rails foundation Volodymyr authored was the platform the US team picked up.

Results

MoveitPro today powers 2,000+ moving companies with 40,000 daily users, built on the Rails foundation Volodymyr authored with Jason at the start. In Jason's own words on the public testimonial on vevidi.com: "Just wanted to say thank you. We became a success and I know you helped a bunch in the beginning. We have over 2000 moving companies using us now and 40,000 daily users." A relationship that is still warm years later, and a clear illustration of the practice that became VeViDi: founder and senior engineer ship the V1, the founder takes it to scale.
