Challenge

3D2cut is an AI-powered iOS and Android training app that helps vineyard workers learn and practice vine pruning through guided courses and interactive simulations. Designed for professional agricultural use in Switzerland, it enables consistent, mobile-first skill development beyond seasonal and on-site training constraints. The app combines visual pruning exercises, immediate feedback, and progress tracking to support structured, repeatable learning.

Vine pruning is a high-impact, skill-based activity where incorrect decisions can affect plant health and long-term yield. Traditional training methods rely heavily on in-field practice, availability of experienced mentors, and seasonal timing, making learning difficult to standardise and scale.

The main challenge was to recreate pruning decision-making in a digital environment that feels realistic, while keeping the product intuitive for non-technical users. The app needed to support structured learning, hands-on practice, and measurable progress, all within a reliable mobile experience suitable for everyday agricultural use.

Solution

We designed and developed a native iOS and Android application that transforms complex pruning logic into interactive training flows. 3D2cut combines guided courses with visual pruning exercises, allowing users to practice decisions repeatedly and receive immediate feedback in a controlled environment.

Results

A scalable back-end supports user accounts, course progression, and performance tracking, while the mobile-first UX focuses on clarity, speed, and ease of use. The architecture was built to support future feature expansion and the ongoing development of the Android version of the app.
