Streamlining merchandising via a unified, cloud-based platform
Challenge
A US retail merchandising department relied on many disconnected tools (spreadsheets and isolated apps) to manage sales, pricing, discounts, and product creation. The fragmented workflow caused data inconsistencies, weak collaboration, and slow, manual execution—so the client needed one unified platform and standardized interface for all merchandising operations.

Solution
ZoolaTech enhanced the existing MVP “Retail Hub” into a unified cloud platform: onboarded multiple apps, built new modules (notifications, issue resolution, task management, user/permission manager), and implemented microservices + microfrontends. React apps run with a Node.js BFF; Kubernetes/Docker and Kafka events (via “Proton”) enable scalable sync/async communication, plus AWS S3/Athena analytics and secure access via Okta/Fastly.

Results
Retail Hub consolidated merchandising workflows into a single point of access, improving operational efficiency and cross-team collaboration. Microservices/microfrontends made it easy to integrate new apps, while real-time reporting from AWS data services improved decision-making. Standardized auth/authorization strengthened security and helped the business respond faster to market changes
