ExpressionEngine to WordPress Migration with Vue.js Components for Cenkos Securities
Challenge
Cenkos Securities is a leading institutional stockbroker, acting as nominated adviser, sponsor, broker and financial adviser to companies across all sectors and stages of growth. Their website ran on ExpressionEngine, an ageing platform that had become expensive to maintain and slow to work with. Three problems compounded. Search visibility was constrained by the platform's technical limitations. Every content change required developer time, leaving the marketing team dependent on third parties for routine updates. And licensing plus maintenance costs kept climbing for a system delivering diminishing value.
The content itself added a further constraint. As a regulated financial services firm, Cenkos publishes large structured datasets — corporate client listings, transaction records and regulatory documentation — that visitors need to search and filter quickly. Any replacement platform had to handle that volume of data performantly without sacrificing page speed.
We were engaged by TypeTwo Studio, who had completed the UX and UI design and needed a development partner to convert it into a flexible, fully editable WordPress build.

Solution
We planned and executed a full migration from ExpressionEngine to WordPress, working alongside TypeTwo Studio and the Cenkos team.
Rather than porting the existing structure, we rebuilt the site around a component system. TypeTwo's designs were converted into reusable content blocks, giving Cenkos the flexibility to compose and edit any page through the CMS without developer involvement — the operational goal that drove the whole project.
For the data-heavy sections we developed custom Vue.js components to render and filter large datasets on the client side. This kept interaction fast and responsive while avoiding the server load of paginating those sets in PHP.
The migration was mapped in full before execution. URL structures, redirects and metadata were carried across in line with a new SEO strategy, so accumulated search equity survived the platform change rather than being rebuilt from zero. We took on hosting, ongoing maintenance and 24x7 monitoring after launch.
