3D Animated Aerial Video Production for Business Consulting Company
Challenge
In the wake of the devastating August 2023 fires in Lahaina, Hawaii, which caused significant damage due to extreme drought conditions, our client came to us with a visionary idea. The plan was to implement a large-scale, solar-powered desalination system to convert ocean water into fresh water, aiming to revive the area’s ecology and prevent future disasters.
The client needed a compelling, visually engaging pitch to inspire leadership and stakeholders. Specifically, they sought an animated 3D video that would bring their vision to life, illustrating the transition from devastation to renewal with vivid realism.

Solution
We collaborated closely with the client, who provided publicly available Google Earth images showing Lahaina both before and after the fire. We conceptualized an animated narrative, starting with a sweeping ocean view and progressing into the burnt town, illustrating the construction of microgrids, solar panels, and desalination plants. The animation concluded with a striking transformation: native trees growing across the previously charred landscape, symbolizing the rejuvenation of the community.
Our team conducted thorough research on Hawaiian native flora, integrating the details into our animation software to ensure ecological accuracy. Using the same sophisticated tools we utilize for 3D rendering, we iteratively refined the project, incorporating client feedback over two review sessions.
