
Challenge
EASY PEASY, a Ukrainian insurtech startup, aimed to transform traditional car insurance into a flexible, usage-based model (“pay-as-you-go” or per kilometer). The initial version of the mobile application, however, faced significant usability and scalability limitations.
Users reported challenges with navigation, lack of visual hierarchy, and an overall complex interface, which negatively impacted the experience of purchasing and managing insurance policies. Additionally, the existing product was not designed to support future growth, limiting the ability to introduce new features such as purchasing policies directly within the app, updating existing contracts, or expanding insurance offerings.
From a technical perspective, the platform required complex integrations with external services (e.g., payment systems, identity verification, logistics providers) and needed to handle multiple policy types with different business logic. The absence of ready-made libraries for some critical features further increased development complexity.

Brights redesigned and rebuilt the EASY PEASY mobile application, focusing on usability, scalability, and seamless user experience.
The process began with in-depth research and analysis of user behavior, pain points, and competitor solutions. Based on these insights, the team restructured user journeys and developed wireframes and prototypes to ensure a clear and intuitive flow for policy purchase and management.
On the design side, a scalable design system was created to support future product expansion. The interface was simplified, with a strong emphasis on clarity and minimalism, enabling users to complete key actions—such as purchasing insurance or topping up kilometers—without unnecessary friction. Visual storytelling elements, including branded illustrations and onboarding flows, were introduced to improve engagement.
From a development standpoint, Brights built a cross-platform mobile application using React Native. The team implemented custom solutions to support complex policy issuance logic and integrated multiple external services, including BankID for user authentication, iPay for payments, and Nova Poshta for address handling. Firebase Dynamic Links were used to connect the web-based calculator with the mobile app, ensuring a smooth transition between platforms.
In parallel, a single-page marketing website was developed to support user acquisition and allow cost calculation before redirecting users to the app.
