Challenge

Arsenal Insurance has been a leader in the Ukrainian insurance market for over 20 years, serving corporate and individual clients. As customer needs evolved, the company wanted to move its services into digital channels, but its medical insurance process had become too complicated for users. Medical policies were handled mainly by phone and email, as with most traditional insurers. Clients had no online access to insurance services, navigation was confusing, filing a claim was difficult, response times were long, and customers had no visibility into where their claim stood.

Arsenal needed a mobile product that would simplify navigation, let users submit claims and request medical assistance in a few taps, and give Arsenal's team an easier way to manage medical services, with room to scale and add features. The timeline was tight.

The bigger challenge came later, when the app had to grow from a single medical line into one platform for medical, auto, property, and travel insurance. Each line has its own business logic, services, and user scenarios, yet every user still needed one consistent, coherent experience.

Solution

Brights built the Arsenal IC mobile app from the ground up in React Native, working alongside Arsenal's team in three stages: first optimizing the company website, then launching a medical insurance app, then expanding it into a full insurance ecosystem.

Because of the tight timeline, design skipped wireframing and moved straight into interface work, iterating closely with the client. For the home screen we tested two directions, tabs with a card for the active policy and a bolder card-based layout, and the concept chosen with the client became the foundation for how every insurance product is presented today. Claims were broken into clear stages (document submission, real-time status updates, confirmation), with support available at every step.

The app includes unified policy management, clinic appointment booking on a map with real-time confirmation, claims submission and tracking, online payments with a full payment schedule, and one communication hub for calls, chat, and support. It also offers personalized product recommendations, renewal push notifications, spending overview, and an onboarding flow. An AI feature helps users understand their symptoms and suggests booking an appointment with a suitable doctor.

The key architectural decision was a flexible app structure that adapts to each insurance type while keeping the same navigation and interaction logic, so users never have to learn a new interface. Integrations include Google Maps, Nova Poshta API, and Mark. The stack also includes Zustand, React Query, MMKV, Firebase, and i18n.

Results

Arsenal IC grew from a single-line medical insurance tool into a full insurance ecosystem. Medical, auto, property, and travel policies are now managed in one secure app, available on Google Play and the App Store.

Customers who previously relied on phone and email can now book doctor appointments, submit and track claims in real time, pay contracts online, and view payment schedules on their own. The claims flow that started as a medical reimbursement process is now the same transparent process across every insurance line. The clear claim stages reduced customer stress, and renewal reminders help Arsenal Insurance reduce lapsed coverage.

The app's intuitive navigation, user-friendly search, and convenience-first UI/UX strengthened trust in the company and increased customer satisfaction across every insurance line it serves. For Arsenal's team, the structure makes it easier to manage services and add new features as business needs change.

The partnership continues after launch. Brights provides ongoing support, working with Arsenal's team daily to improve functionality, adapt interfaces to new business needs, design new scenarios, and roll out improvements based on user feedback, while monitoring app performance to keep customer satisfaction high.
