Challenge
Fujairah Customs needed to revamp their outdated website into a modern, secure, and fully functional platform. The main challenge was structuring and presenting a wide range of e-services, forms, and internal content in a way that was clear, user-friendly, and visually balanced for different user groups — citizens, businesses, and government partners. In addition, the design had to reflect the government’s heritage and authority while staying modern and responsive across devices.
We also had to implement complete bilingual support (Arabic & English) at both the UI and data levels, ensuring that every module, form, and service remained accessible and linguistically accurate. Another key requirement was integrating a public complaint system and ensuring full compliance with UAE e-government security and data protection protocols.
واجهت جمارك الفجيرة تحديًا في تحويل موقعها القديم إلى منصة حديثة تواكب التوجهات الرقمية الحكومية. كان التحدي الأساسي هو تنظيم وعرض الخدمات الإلكترونية العديدة والنماذج والبيانات بطريقة واضحة وسهلة الاستخدام لمختلف فئات المستخدمين — من أفراد وشركات وشركاء حكوميين. تطلّب الأمر توازنًا دقيقًا بين التصميم العصري والطابع المؤسسي الرسمي المرتبط بالجهات الحكومية.
كما أن دعم اللغة العربية بجانب الإنجليزية لم يكن مجرد ترجمة، بل كان يتطلب بناء واجهات متكاملة ثنائية اللغة تضمن تجربة متساوية في جميع الأقسام. إضافةً إلى ذلك، طُلب منا دمج نظام شكاوى إلكتروني، وضمان الالتزام الكامل بجميع معايير أمن المعلومات وأنظمة الحكومة الذكية في دولة الإمارات.

Solution
CANADA HITECH approached this project with a user-first mindset and a structured information architecture strategy. We began by mapping all e-services and internal sections to identify user flows and prioritize access to high-demand content. Custom modules were developed to accommodate different types of digital services, including shipment tracking, document requests, public complaints, and customs inquiries — all while supporting future scalability.
We implemented a fully bilingual structure with mirrored content in Arabic and English, ensuring consistency, right-to-left UI alignment, and dynamic language switching. Design-wise, we balanced tradition and innovation by integrating modern components within a framework that respected the visual identity and cultural tone of the UAE’s public sector. To meet cybersecurity requirements, the platform was built with secure hosting, encrypted forms, role-based access, and code-level compliance with UAE government protocols.

تم تصميم الموقع ليكون ثنائي اللغة بشكل كامل، مع مراعاة التوافق التام بين النسختين العربية والإنجليزية من حيث المحتوى واتجاه الواجهة وتجربة الاستخدام. دمجنا عناصر تصميم حديثة مع الحفاظ على هوية الجهة الحكومية، ما أتاح توازنًا بين الأصالة والتطور. ولضمان الامتثال لمعايير الأمن الإلكتروني، تم استخدام استضافة آمنة، تشفير البيانات، التحكم في صلاحيات الدخول، وتطبيق معايير الأمان الحكومية على مستوى الكود.
