Challenge

The gastro-tourism market faces a two-sided problem: guests struggle to quickly find and book a table or tour, while venue owners lose up to 30% of revenue from missed calls and lack of automation. This hits small restaurants, guesthouses, and wineries hardest, since they typically have no dedicated reception staff to handle bookings across multiple channels — phone, social media, and messaging apps.

The client needed more than a single booking widget. The goal was a unified ecosystem connecting venue discovery in the mobile app to automatic booking confirmation and payment, with multilingual support critical for serving both local guests and international tourists visiting gastro-tourism regions.

Solution

dev.family built a universal booking engine on Next.js, Laravel, and PostgreSQL, architected to handle fundamentally different business logic under one system — a restaurant tracking table capacity, a winery selling group tour tickets, a museum validating QR codes at entry. The admin panel runs on Admiral, dev.family's own framework for flexible admin interfaces, accelerating development and ensuring scalability.

A core deliverable was the booking form constructor: an embeddable iFrame widget that venues copy onto their own website or social media without any development work, solving style isolation and cross-domain security challenges along the way. The team integrated a payment gateway supporting automatic commission splitting between venue, distributor, and platform, plus a fiscal register for compliant receipts.

A separate workstream integrated the client's AI receptionist — a voice and text agent running on top of the booking infrastructure that handles calls and messages, checks availability, suggests time slots, completes bookings, and notifies staff in real time. Notifications use a cascading model, defaulting to Telegram and falling back to SMS, cutting delivery costs while maintaining reliability. The platform also supports role-based access (admin, provider, distributor, manager, scanner) and QR-coded e-tickets for tours and events.

Results

Manual booking processing dropped threefold for venues using the AI receptionist, with missed calls during peak hours now converting into confirmed reservations instead of lost revenue.

The platform became the technical foundation for Wegosty's SaaS scaling model, with predictable unit economics and readiness for regional rollout through tourism offices and gastro-navigators. Venues gained a full sales channel beyond a simple booking widget — including exposure through the Wegosty mobile app audience — with payments, notifications, and guest communications fully automated end to end.
