The 9D team aimed to create a wellness app that combined a rich catalog of guided meditations with a personalized experience and offline access to breathwork instructors. The main challenge was to design an architecture that supports two user types — listeners and facilitators — with different levels of access and workflows. It also required seamless media handling, advanced filtering, and a user-friendly experience across mobile platforms. The project needed to integrate real-time geolocation search, notification systems, and scalable subscription logic — all while maintaining smooth, intuitive UX.

Solution
We built a cross-platform mobile app using React Native, with a robust backend on Laravel. To support different user roles, we implemented separate flows for regular users and verified facilitators, including a custom admin panel. The app features a searchable catalog of meditation audio, personal libraries, and appointment booking with location-based filtering. We added push notifications, offline mode, and a subscription system with in-app purchases (Apple/Google). For a smooth experience, we used Reanimated 3 for scroll animations and integrated services like Mailgun, Imgproxy, and FCM for communications and media delivery.
