Skye Flowers
Challenge
Skye Flowers is a local florist serving customers across Toronto and Muskoka. As online demand for flower ordering increased, the limitations of an outdated website became a real operational problem — it no longer reflected how customers actually shop for flowers: quickly, often emotionally, and frequently with specific or time-sensitive delivery requirements.
Key challenges included designing an ordering experience that supports same-day, scheduled, and pickup orders clearly without confusing customers; building for emotional and impulse-driven purchases where speed and ease of checkout are critical; balancing strong visual presentation of floral products with fast, friction-free ordering paths; implementing different delivery logic rules for floral versus non-floral products; and designing a backend that is simple for the florist team to manage day-to-day without technical support.

Solution
The build focused on operational clarity and customer confidence. A customized Shopify theme was structured around the ordering flow first — with design and content layered in to support it, not the other way around. Clear paths were designed for delivery versus pickup orders, making the right choice intuitive from the start of the shopping experience.
Custom delivery logic was built to accurately reflect real florist operations — including same-day cutoff times, scheduled delivery windows, and local pickup options. The checkout process was kept fast and distraction-free. The site was optimized specifically for mobile, where the majority of floral orders are placed. The backend setup was kept clean and easy for staff to manage without requiring developer involvement for routine updates.
