Challenge

DAR Transport, a Canadian freight and logistics company operating in Saskatchewan, needed a more connected way to manage customer inquiries, transportation quotes, dispatch operations, shipment tracking, and invoicing.

The business lacked a centralized customer-facing system where clients could request quotes, monitor shipments, and access important delivery information. Dispatch pricing depended heavily on manual calculations and operational knowledge, making it difficult to provide a consistent quoting experience.

Another challenge was inaccurate service information on the company's existing website. Several services were advertised that the business did not actually provide, creating a disconnect between its digital presence and operational capabilities.

The company needed a reliable software platform connecting dispatch administrators, drivers, and customers while improving service accuracy, operational visibility, and the overall transportation management process.

Solution

Eye4tech developed a custom logistics and fleet management platform that connects customer interactions, transportation quoting, dispatch management, delivery tracking, and invoicing within a unified system.

The solution includes three dedicated portals for administrators, customers, and drivers, each designed around its users' responsibilities. A rules-based pricing engine calculates transportation quotes using distance, equipment requirements, fuel costs, service speed, and handling charges.

The platform also includes a dispatch board for driver assignments, live GPS tracking, shipment status updates, proof-of-delivery capture, PDF invoicing, and payment management.

To address inaccurate business information, Eye4tech implemented a centralized service catalogue connected to the website, APIs, and pricing logic. Automated tests help prevent discontinued services from appearing again.

The application was built using React, TypeScript, Laravel, PHP, and MySQL, with integrated APIs supporting the transportation workflow.

Results

Eye4tech delivered and deployed a connected logistics management platform that significantly improved the structure and visibility of DAR Transport's operations.

The project introduced three dedicated portals for administrators, customers, and drivers, supported by 109 API endpoints across a 12-stage order lifecycle. These capabilities connect transportation quotes, order management, driver assignments, shipment tracking, and invoicing in one system.

A detailed service audit identified 22 incorrectly advertised services, which were removed from the company's published offering. Automated validation was implemented to prevent these inaccurate services from being reintroduced.

Customers gained access to a self-service quoting process and shipment information, while dispatch teams received tools for pricing, driver coordination, and delivery tracking.

The platform is deployed and functional. Eye4tech continues to host and maintain it, while the operational components are being introduced into daily fleet use.
