Challenge

The project began with an online construction store in Ukraine that was struggling with several critical issues that hindered its visibility and performance in the competitive market. The primary challenges included low keyword rankings, technical SEO errors, outdated content, and the need for a complete website redesign along with a transition to a new CMS. The existing website suffered from numerous technical problems, such as broken links, 404 errors, slow page load times, poor mobile optimization, and incorrect use of tags and metadata, all of which negatively impacted the site's search engine rankings and user experience. Furthermore, the content on the website was outdated and lacked relevance, which further limited its ability to attract and retain visitors. The overarching challenge was to address these issues comprehensively to enhance the site’s visibility, increase traffic, and improve overall SEO performance, while also managing a significant website redesign to ensure long-term success.

Solution

To tackle these challenges, a multifaceted SEO strategy was implemented. The first step involved conducting a comprehensive technical audit to identify and rectify all SEO-related issues on the website. This audit uncovered several key problems, including broken links, 404 errors, slow load times, poor mobile optimization, and incorrect tag usage. These issues were promptly fixed to improve the website’s technical foundation. Following the technical audit, an extensive keyword research initiative was undertaken to develop a new list of high-relevance keywords with manageable competition. This research informed the on-page optimization process, which included rewriting titles, descriptions, and headers (H1-H2) to align with SEO best practices. The content on the website was also overhauled to enhance relevance and attract more traffic, with a focus on improving overall quality and SEO effectiveness. The metadata was expanded and optimized to ensure better indexing and higher search engine rankings. Additionally, a targeted link-building strategy was employed to increase the website’s authority and ranking potential. This strategy involved guest posting on relevant blogs and listing the website in company directories. Finally, the website underwent a significant redesign, transitioning to a new CMS to improve usability, scalability, and overall user experience. Collaboration with web designers and developers ensured that the new design was fully SEO-friendly and aligned with the project’s goals.

Results

The implementation of these SEO strategies led to substantial improvements in the online construction store's performance. One of the most notable achievements was the significant increase in the number of keywords ranking in the top 10 of Google search results. This increase in keyword rankings translated into a dramatic rise in monthly traffic, with more users finding and engaging with the site through organic search. The keyword index was also expanded, which further enhanced the site’s visibility and allowed it to capture a larger share of the market. The combination of technical SEO fixes, content optimization, and effective link-building solidified the site’s authority and improved its overall ranking potential. Moreover, the website redesign and CMS transition played a crucial role in enhancing user experience and ensuring the site’s long-term scalability and usability. The comprehensive approach taken to address the challenges faced by the online store resulted in marked improvements in visibility, traffic, and user engagement, ultimately strengthening the store's position in the competitive construction market. This case study underscores the importance of a well-rounded SEO strategy that addresses both technical and content-related issues while also considering the long-term implications of website design and user experience.
