
AR App for Reporting Locations for Parcel Machines
Challenge
Finding the right location for a parcel machine is not straightforward, as the decision depends on several factors, including the potential availability of the location for customers. Furgonetka BOX Partner wanted to involve users in reporting potential spots, so the process needed to be as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.
The main challenge was combining an easy-to-use reporting flow with augmented reality. Users needed to be able to visualise a parcel machine in the real-life surroundings without making the AR experience unnecessarily complicated. The project also required a solution that could support both iOS and Android while keeping development costs under control.

Solution
Mobitouch developed the application using Flutter, supported by native iOS and Android code. This cross-platform approach allowed the app to be developed for both platforms while still providing the native capabilities required by the project.
The reporting process starts with camera access, which can be granted with a single tap. Users can then select the size of the parcel machine and virtually place its 3D model into the real-life landscape using augmented reality. The geolocation feature helps position the proposed location on the map.
After selecting the location, the user completes an application form. The form, together with an augmented-reality image of the proposed spot, is sent to Furgonetka BOX Partner for further business analysis. The app guides users through the entire reporting process, with clear steps and an intuitive interface.
The project used ARCore and ARKit SDKs, advanced 3D models, and native Swift and Kotlin code alongside Flutter. Dataplace.ai provided the business analysis tool used to assess the potential of submitted locations.
