Mobile App for Medical Professionals
Challenge
AskMedNow is a quiz app for medical professionals: doctors, pharmacists, nurses and medical students.
The idea is to let them compete with each other in dedicated categories at different levels of difficulty, broadening their knowledge of specific topics while having fun doing it. Users add their own questions, a leaderboard tracks the results, and winners receive prizes and rewards.
The audience is what complicates it. A pharmacist and a nursing student do not belong in the same round, so the subject matter has to be matched to the group rather than served uniformly. And competition means real-time play, because a quiz answered alone against a clock is a different product from a duel with another person.

Solution
Mobitouch built the apps in native code, Swift and Kotlin, with a .NET Core backend, real-time communication using the SignalR library, Firebase push notifications and an integration with a transactional email API.
The app is divided into two modules, both managed from a CMS, so the client controls the content and the competitions without developer involvement.
The quiz module lets a user play against the computer, against a friend, or against a random opponent. Real-time competition is what sets this apart from comparable products: two people answer the same questions at the same moment, which turns a knowledge test into a match.
Content is matched to the audience. Competitions are adjusted to specific user groups, so the questions a participant faces are relevant to their profession and to their level.
