Radio RAM on-the-go - mobile app for modern users
Challenge
Radio RAM belongs to the Radio Wrocław group and has its own character: an urban station with relaxed programming and an audience that recognises it by that tone. The app had to carry that identity rather than look like a generic player.
The target was younger listeners and drivers, and the player decided everything. A radio app sits in the background while the listener does something else, so the stream has to survive a phone call and keep running while someone scrolls TikTok or watches reels on Instagram. Drivers expect the station on the screen built into the car, through Android Auto and CarPlay.
Live streaming was the core, but the app was planned to grow, with podcasts and a sleep timer as later additions.

Solution
Mobitouch built the app in Flutter, with integration for Android Auto and CarPlay.
Most of the work went into the player. We tuned its behaviour around interruptions, so an incoming call pauses the stream and playback returns afterwards, and the audio keeps running when the listener moves to another app. Controls stay available from the notification and the lock screen, which is where people actually reach for them.
Android Auto and CarPlay put Radio RAM on the display in the car, so the driver starts the station from the car system instead of handling the phone.
The design follows the station rather than the platform. The urban, laid-back tone that listeners associate with Radio RAM carries into the interface, while navigation stays simple enough to use in a few taps.
Flutter covers iOS and Android from one codebase, which kept the two versions consistent and leaves room for the features planned next, podcasts and a sleep timer among them.

Results
Radio RAM has an app that matches how its audience listens. The advanced player together with Android Auto and CarPlay support found its way quickly to younger users and to drivers, the two groups the project was aimed at.
The new design reflects the station's urban, chilled-out style and made the app easier to use day to day, which showed in the feedback from listeners.
The app became a natural way to listen to Radio RAM on the go, and it lifted the quality of the station's digital presence as a whole.
