Topaz Labs makes photo and video AI tools. Their documentation was spread out and hard to maintain, and they wanted it condensed into a single platform that was extensible and easy for their team to edit, with the editorial experience treated as a first-class concern.
Topaz Labs makes photo and video AI tools. Their documentation was spread out and hard to maintain, and they wanted it condensed into a single platform that was extensible and easy for their team to edit, with the editorial experience treated as a first-class concern.
Solution
We built the docs on Sanity, Next.js, and Vercel. Using Sanity's real-time capabilities, we developed custom input components and tailored the CMS to how Topaz works, down to placeholder presentation, field descriptions, and instant feedback from a live preview system. We collaborated with the internal Topaz design team to expand their design system, and handled video with Mux so heavy media streams at a size matched to each device and connection.

The new documentation platform shipped in four weeks and loads extremely fast, with visual consistency held across every page of the docs. The Topaz team now publishes and previews changes without a developer in the loop, and the live preview system means editors see exactly what a page will look like before it ships. Video-heavy tutorials stream through Mux at a size matched to each reader's device and connection.
