Challenge

DemandTec, a division of IBM, was challenged with not being able to hire fast enough in Silicon Valley. After contracting with Sonatafy Technology a team was built to help develop the DemandTec retail platform providing enterprise SaaS applications for pricing and promotion and markdown technology to clients around the world.

Solution

Sonatafy was able to quickly source developers residing in Latin America and the Asia Pacific to provide design, software engineering, and quality assurance to augment the firm’s disparate teams in the United States.

Results

By hiring qualified engineers and technology professionals quickly in Shanghai, China, Sonatafy assisted the Client in growing the business from 5 million dollars annually to over 65 million dollars annually with product deployments to Fortune 100 companies around the world. After the IPO, IBM purchased DemandTec and subsequently bought out the team triggering a Build Operate Transfer mechanism stated in the MSA.
