Engineering partnerships that outlast the cycle

Syndicode is a senior engineering partner that builds the software, data, and AI systems behind construction and e-commerce businesses. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Lisbon.

Our model is built around a single principle: we take accountability for the business outcome, not just the deliverables. That's reflected in how we hire (senior engineers only, screened for business judgment), how we work (Discovery that digs into the actual problem before we build and is sized to the complexity of the problem), and how long our engagements last (six-year average client relationship).

In construction, our anchor engagement is McCarthy Building Companies, Top-20 US builder: four years of partnership and multiple production systems across their innovation division. In e-commerce, our most prominent engagement was ThredUP: six years from Series B through their public exit, focused on marketplace architecture and seller-side scaling.

Our 30-person team, senior-only by design, operates across the US, the UK, and the EU. Average engineer tenure is 4.5 years. We deliberately don't hire juniors: the work we do (complex systems, long-running engagements) requires peers.

Syndicode is ISO 27001 certified, with GDPR-native engineering and OWASP-standard security across our verticals. Security is designed into the architecture starting from Discovery.

Data and AI are part of how we deliver. Our proprietary AI-PE Framework, built and proven on our own pre-sales workflow and SDLC, now runs on client engagements, so we deliver faster without cutting corners. Same senior team, same accountability.
