
Designing the interface for an electric vehicle charging ecosystem that didn't exist yet
Challenge
i-charging came to Untile with a fully formed idea for an ecosystem of apps to make charging an electric vehicle simple and intuitive — but nothing like it existed on the market yet. There was no reference product to design against, and no existing interface to build from.

Solution
Working closely with i-charging's team over two weeks of dedicated sessions, Untile designed the UX and UI for i-charging's charging points from scratch — prototyping, testing internally and externally, and refining based on what those tests revealed, since the technology itself was still new territory for everyone involved.

Results
The result is an interconnected app ecosystem where the entire charging process is configurable by the user — charging power, charge percentage, charging time, cost limit, payment options, and tax information — built for a category with no existing playbook to follow.
