We were to build a software solution consolidating various IoT devices into a single smart home ecosystem. The system was to be managed both from the house and remotely. Home dwellers should be able to get notifications and contact support in case of an emergency.

Solution
Vakoms engineers chose Qt as the main technology. It allowed for building cross-platform mobile apps and reduced development time. The technology was compatible with Embedded Linux, so the control panel was also built with Qt and QML. Our engineers developed the backend and server administration webpage to manage users and data. Later on, our engineers provided firmware updates.

Results
In 6 months, Vakoms delivered a demo version of the custom home automation system. It allows users to control all connected devices from the main tablet and their smartphones. When an alarm is triggered, users receive push notifications.
