VT Digital enhanced the StareDown mobile application by developing an interactive gaming experience focused on competitive gameplay, real-time performance, user retention, and monetization.
Our team analyzed existing application functionality, user behavior, gaming industry trends, and competitor experiences to identify opportunities for improving engagement. We introduced video-based staring contests, allowing players to record matches, challenge friends, and compete against bot opponents using recorded videos.
To make gameplay more engaging, we implemented strategic power-ups, multiple match types, tiered rankings, trophies, referral features, and an improved rewards system. We also streamlined user registration, navigation, and gameplay interactions to create a more intuitive player experience.
The technical solution incorporated Node.js and NestJS for backend development, WebRTC and Socket.io for real-time communication, and SwiftUI for the mobile interface. Apple ARKit and AWS Predictions supported advanced gaming capabilities.
We integrated in-app purchases, Google AdMob, and payment-related functionality to support monetization, while Firebase crash reporting helped monitor application stability.
