Challenge

Ambare-e had already established an EV charging network across Brazil, including home, apartment, and public charging stations, but drivers had no digital interface to monitor or control their charging sessions. Users could not confirm whether charging had started, track charging progress, or estimate completion time. The client also faced unreliable communication between the mobile app and its custom charger firmware, while different charger types required separate access rules, pricing models, and permissions.

Solution

We developed a cross-platform EV charging application that gives drivers real-time visibility and control over their charging sessions. The app supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, QR-based public charger access, and real-time charger communication through AWS IoT Core and MQTT. Users can remotely start or stop charging, monitor power consumption and session progress, view charging history, manage payments and receipts, schedule charging, control apartment charger access, and locate nearby chargers with real-time availability, pricing, compatibility, filters, favorites, and navigation.

Results

The solution gave drivers greater visibility, control, and confidence throughout the charging experience. Real-time monitoring improved transparency and trust, while remote firmware updates allowed Ambare-e to resolve charger issues without sending technicians to each location. The MVP generated real user feedback and usage data to guide future improvements. Charger discovery also reduced the time users spent searching for available stations, while the scalable architecture created a strong foundation for future integrations, analytics, and broader EV charging network growth.
