Challenge
SimpliSCADA needed a scalable and secure SCADA platform capable of connecting legacy infrastructure, proprietary IoT sensors, and modern web and mobile applications.
The existing environment relied on outdated technologies and proprietary sensors, limiting interoperability and making future expansion difficult. Remote Pump Jacks also required reliable transmission of sensor data for continuous operational monitoring.
At the same time, the system needed secure role-based access, centralized data management, real-time monitoring, and an alert mechanism capable of quickly notifying field technicians, office teams, and administrators when sensor anomalies or system failures occurred.

Solution
VT Netzwelt designed and developed a scalable SaaS-based SCADA platform that unified IoT devices, legacy systems, cloud infrastructure, and web and mobile applications within a single ecosystem.
We developed responsive web and mobile applications for iOS and Android, allowing users to securely monitor and control operations from both field locations and offices.
The platform was integrated with proprietary sensors and multiple PLCs to collect sensor information at regular intervals and centrally manage operational data. Custom translators were developed to convert data from legacy systems into modern formats, enabling seamless interoperability without replacing existing infrastructure.
A comprehensive alert management system was implemented to detect sensor anomalies, out-of-range conditions, and site communication failures. Email and SMS notifications were enabled through Mailgun and Twilio to ensure relevant users could respond quickly.
The platform also included role-based user management, customizable data visualization, historical and real-time trend analysis, detailed activity logging, password recovery, and two-factor authentication.
To support long-term scalability and reliability, the solution was built on AWS using a serverless architecture, including AWS Lambda and Amazon RDS.

Results
The new SimpliSCADA platform provided the client with a scalable, secure, and flexible foundation for monitoring and managing industrial operations.
Real-time access across web, iOS, and Android enabled field and office teams to monitor site information more efficiently and respond faster to operational issues.
Support for both proprietary and universal sensors reduced vendor dependency and created greater flexibility for future system expansion. Integration with legacy infrastructure also allowed the client to modernize operations without undertaking costly system replacements.
Advanced visualization capabilities made it easier to analyze real-time and historical sensor data, identify trends, and support informed operational decisions.
Automated alerts and notifications improved response times to anomalies and system failures, helping minimize potential downtime. Role-based access controls and two-factor authentication strengthened platform security, while the AWS serverless architecture provided the scalability required to accommodate future operational growth.
