01 - Scope Creep and Budget Uncertainty: Artixo needed a bounded, fixed-price deliverable rather than an open-ended engagement. A vendor unable to hold scope would have exposed the project to rolling change requests and budget overruns on a product that had to ship against fixed hardware timelines.
02 - Proprietary Hardware Constraints: The app was never a generic mobile release. It had to run on Artixo's own Android tablet, so the build had to account for that specific hardware rather than target the open device market, narrowing the margin for late technical surprises.
03 - AI-Generated Guidance, Not Static Content: Teaching users to draw from a sample image they supply themselves rules out a pre-recorded tutorial library. Every lesson had to be generated on demand and adapted to that input, putting the AI pipeline at the center of the product.
04 - Single Point of Delivery Accountability: Artixo engaged one vendor to carry design, engineering, and hardware integration together. Splitting the work would have left ownership gaps between the AI feature, the app, and the tablet it shipped on, with no single party accountable for the result.
