Genful: custom skincare store, 88% lighter homepage
Challenge
Genful Sciences is a skincare brand in Lahore, Pakistan (disclosure: it is owned by our founder's family, so this was an in-house project, not a paid engagement). It needed a custom online store, not a theme, with 6 products, 4 bundles, a skin-type quiz that recommends products, a bundle builder and a blog. When Bilby walked the first version on 8 September 2026, the homepage weighed 4.4 MB, with about 2 seconds of render-blocking scripts and a single 1.7 MB image, so mobile shoppers waited too long.

Solution
We built the store as a custom site and then worked through performance: images resized and served in modern formats, render-blocking scripts removed or deferred, and the quiz and bundle builder kept light so they do not slow the first view. Each change was re-measured, and Bilby keeps watching the store every night for broken pages, cart and checkout problems.

Results
On 14 October 2026 the homepage weighed 541 KB, 88% lighter than the 4.4 MB measured on 8 September. Lighthouse (3 runs each) scored desktop performance 98 with a 0.5 s Largest Contentful Paint and 0 ms blocking time, and mobile performance 82 with a 3.4 s LCP. The September and October timings came from different tools, so page weight is the like-for-like comparison. Mobile LCP is the next thing we are improving.
